Join us for fantastic evening tasting fine wines and meeting people in a relaxed environment at our Wine Tasting and City Social event. The best way to celebrate the new year: clinking glasses with new friends and learning something new!
Our wine theme this month is wines to have an an apéritif - the START of the meal/year.
This event is open for both members and non members.
You are welcome to join this event if you are looking for:
- A place to make new friends
- Something to bring variety in your everyday life
- A space where you can forget your everyday worries and give your mind some rest
- An opportunity to explore different taste and try new things
- A way to satisfy your wine curiosities
-To have fun while learning something new
There are usually around 40 people who come together in our monthly meeting. We have people who have been attending since the first event in 2008 and others who are joining for the first time. Some people are just starting their journey to learn about wine, others are well traveled in the wine world. The age is mostly 30-50 but regardless of age to number of times attended or knowledge of wine, people tend to mix and mingle quite well... That's why they keep coming back!
If the above sounds like you, we would love for you to join us!
About the wines:
All of our wines are carefully selected to highlight the particular theme of the night - themes are usually quirky like Wines like Tennis Stars or Why wine is like dating. We serve a mixture of dry, sweet and fizzy and try to have 2 whites and 2 reds served in 30 ml tasting samples (125ml per person) We do not often advertise what we are serving as we love people who would like to push their boundaries and try new things - some of which people are very surprised they like.
This style of tasting has less emphasis on the types of soil or things like grams of sugar per litre. It's more about light hearted fun wine facts, that you can impress your friends with.
Time: The doors open for check-in at 6:00 pm. The tasting starts at 7:00pm & ends at 8:30pm. Our private area closes around 11pm
At 8:30: There will be around 20 people that stay to mingle. To help support the club and our venue, we ask that guest order food at the bar. Those that order food will all sit together after the tasting.
