About the exhibition
We all have a favourite subject, whether it be sport, a particular pastime, family or even a lover. It’s not always easy to ascertain someone’s passion in life but when it comes to artists, we’re granted a glimpse into their psyche through the work they produce and display.
Enjoy guessing what each artist’s favourite subject is, but remember, things may not always be as clear cut as you first think…
About the venue
Running throughout the entire month of September this year at M1 Fine Art in Greenwich, ‘My Favourite Subject’ sees members of the most highly regarded institute relating to oil painting (The ROI) present physical representations of their favourite subjects, each in their own trademark styles. Learn about what drives these industry leaders and explore the differing ways they each express themselves through the paintings they produce.
Art experts will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and to advise you on any purchases you may wish to make now and in the future.
The Royal Institute of Oil Painters (also known as the ROI) was founded in 1882 and is the only major British art society that promotes and exhibits work of the highest standard exclusively in Oils. The ROI provides a centre of excellence and encouragement to all who love this robust medium and has been seen as the holy grail for artists the world over since being granted royal status by King Edward VII in 1909.
The exhibition runs from Friday September 1st to Sunday 1st October 2017. Please visit their website for opening times if you would like to vistit the gallery with friends and family and follow our Social Media pages if you wish to be kept up to date.
